CHAPTER ONE

INTRODUCTION

Specific objectives include:

1.    To evaluate the impact of sample volume on the extraction efficiency of nickel (II) ions using coated silica gel.

2.    To determine the effectiveness of Schiff’s base (BHPDE) as a chelating agent in enhancing the solid-phase extraction of nickel (II) ions.

3.    To find out the optimal conditions for using coated silica gel and Schiff’s base (BHPDE) in the extraction process to maximize recovery and accuracy.

1.4 Research Questions

1.5 Significance of the Study
